‘So there we were, driving around Deception Bay for days, looking for that perfect spot, when we stumbled upon this old, vintage-looking Presbyterian church. It was like a hidden gem—if your idea of a hidden gem is next to an auto mechanic shop in the middle of a slightly “gritty” area. But hey, that’s exactly the vibe we were going for! The couple showed up in their van, fully prepared with a wardrobe for every occasion, and we ended up doing not one, not two, but three outfit swaps right there in the parking lot. It was unconventional, a little quirky, but it made for some seriously fun and memorable shots!’

Sascha is a talented makeup artist specializing in weddings, and her passion for what she does is truly evident. There’s something remarkable about young artists who have honed their craft over the years and continue to stay dedicated through every season of their journey. I deeply admire that. I had the pleasure of working with Sascha at a wedding, and I was struck by her calm presence and her precise, confident execution of quality work. Her attention to detail and expertise made her a joy to collaborate with. I gave her the freedom to create whatever she liked and she delivered beautifully.

I had the pleasure of meeting this wonderful couple at a creative event hosted by Ottway the Label in Byron Bay. While I met so many amazing people that day, this couple truly stood out to me. They embody the kind of connection I strive to capture in the couples I photograph – not just a posed look, but a real, soulful bond. They’ve been married for years, yet they radiate the youthful energy of their 20s, looking far younger than their age. Nicky and Marcus’ relationship is a beautiful reminder of what genuine love and connection truly looks like. I love that they showed up in a van full of clothing options and we could put together different looks and have fun in the process. I called their van “Op shop on wheels”
