Spiders, snakes, heights, clowns, elevators? Any of these scare you? See, I don’t think any of these things in and of themselves are what people are actually scared of. I think what scares most of us is the UNKNOWN. The UNPREDICTABLE. Oh yeah! That can actually be scary. Not the spider, but the- not knowing if it’s gonna jump on you. What if it will patiently wait for you in the shadows. Not so much heights, but the fear of being pushed or slipping, fear of unknown. Now that’s something annoying. Almost as annoying as when a piece food gets stuck between the teeth. We find the unknown annoying and scary.
Where am I going with this? Ah yeah: I just received my SECOND YEAR VISA. That means I will stay in Australia for one more year. So what am I scared of? Lets say it together: THE UNKNOWN! The feeling of jumping into strange waters and not knowing what’s waiting on the bottom. Something pushed me to be here though, so here I am. Standing in muddy waters, holding a torch, cause I’m so symbolic like that. Here’s what I promise for my year in Australia:
- To always turn my visions into creation.
- To drink more coffee than I did before.
- To be more honest with God, myself and people around me.
- To live and speak my truth.
- To connect with people and their stories through photography.
- To learn surfing and I don’t mean the internet.
- To not get any more speeding tickets.
- To teach photography for people who care.
- To start enjoying the sounds birds make in Australia
- AAAND to surround myself with people who challenge me

I’ve wanted for some time to move to the western US and fight wildfires. I took a huge step and applied for an absurd amount of jobs. There is this looming doubt over my head and it honestly is like you say a fear of the unknown, but you help inspire me to push myself out of my comfort zone, and experience what life has to offer and pursue my passions.
I am always happy to have people think with me on my posts. But to have them be inspiring is a whole other level. Thank you so much for taking time to let me know I inspired you. And you couldn’t be more right. If a though wont let you go, it has to be there for a reason hey?!
